The foundation of healthy nails
Did you know that healthy nails begin with taking care of your body overall? It's true! What you consume and how you live significantly impacts the strength and appearance of your nails. Beyond that, intentional preparation and aftercare are crucial steps for maintaining their health and beauty. We're here to guide you through these essential practices.

Common nail care mistakes to avoid
Many people unknowingly make mistakes that can harm their nails. Three common culprits are cutting or removing cuticles, over-buffing and using nails as tools.
Cutting or removing cuticles: Cuticles serve as a vital protective seal between your skin and nail. Trimming them can increase the risk of irritation and infection. Instead, we recommend softening them with cuticle oil and gently pushing them back if desired.
Over-buffing: Buffing too frequently or too aggressively can thin the nail plate, making your nails weak and prone to splitting. Reserve buffing for occasional use to maintain their natural strength.
Using nails as tools: Opening cans, peeling stickers, scratching off labels, or prying objects puts a lot of stress on the nail and can lead to cracks, splits, or breaks.

Shaunty’s top tips for amazing nail care
As your dedicated nail artist, I've gathered my personal favorite tips to help you achieve and maintain stunning nails:
- Cuticle oil is your best friend! A lot of people moisturize their hands but neglect their nails. Regular application of cuticle oil keeps your cuticles soft, healthy, and your nails hydrated, promoting stronger growth.
- Understand when to give your nails a break. Just like everything else, your nails need to take breaks. If you frequently wear polish or enhancements, occasionally going natural can significantly improve their health.
- Pack in the vitamins and nutrient's! A balanced, nutrient-rich diet is one of the most important factors in supporting healthy nail growth and strength. Nails rely on vitamins, minerals, protein, and healthy fats to grow strong, making nutrition an essential part of nail care. Even the best nail care routine can't fully make up for a diet that's lacking in key nutrients needed for healthy nail growth.
